A motorcycle can't be hooked up like a car. It needs to be loaded upright, chocked and strapped so it doesn't lean, shift or scratch. Nick's Towing San Jacinto provides careful motorcycle towing in San Jacinto for riders who'd rather not trust their bike to just anyone.

From a Harley that won't fire up in a parking lot on State St to a sport bike stranded on the Pines to Palms Highway, we'll get it to your garage, your mechanic or the dealer. Call (951) 355-4290 any time, day or night.

How We Handle Motorcycle Towing

Every bike rides on a flatbed. We never drag a motorcycle on a wheel-lift or hang it from a sling. Here's what a proper load looks like:

  • The bike is rolled or winched up the deck in a straight line, with a second person steadying it when needed.
  • The front wheel goes into a wheel chock so the bike stands upright on its own.
  • Soft loops go around solid frame points or the lower triple clamp, and ratchet straps attach to those loops, not directly to painted or chromed parts.
  • The suspension is compressed just enough to keep the straps tight without bottoming out the forks.

That setup keeps the bike stable on bumpy roads and hard stops. It also avoids the scuffed tanks, bent levers and cracked fairings that come from rushed or improper tie-downs.

Bikes We Tow

We tow just about anything on two or three wheels that a rider brings through the valley:

  • Cruisers and baggers including heavy touring bikes with full fairings and saddlebags
  • Sport bikes with low fairings and clip-ons that need extra care around plastics
  • Adventure and dual-sport bikes that went down on a dirt road
  • Trikes and three-wheelers, including reverse-trike designs
  • Scooters and mopeds
  • Dirt bikes and ATVs that need a lift home from a property
  • Vintage and custom builds where the owner wants hands-off loading

If your bike is unusually heavy, has aftermarket parts sticking out or has been laid down, mention it when you call so the driver comes ready.

Riding Routes Where We Pick Up Bikes

The San Jacinto Valley sits at the base of some of the best riding roads in Southern California, and that means we pick up a lot of bikes. SR-74 climbs from Hemet into the San Jacinto Mountains on the Pines to Palms Highway, and SR-243 connects the mountain communities around Idyllwild with Banning. Those are beautiful roads with tight curves, steep grades and limited cell service in spots.

Closer to home, we tow bikes from Ramona Expressway, Gilman Springs Rd, Sanderson Ave, Soboba Rd and the commuter routes through Hemet and San Jacinto. Many calls are simple: a dead battery, a flat rear tire or a bike that won't restart after a fuel stop.

For mountain pickups, it helps to drop a pin or note a mile marker or turnout. If you can't get a signal where you are, ride or walk to the nearest spot where you can and call from there.

After a Motorcycle Accident

If you've gone down, your health comes first. Call 911 if anyone is hurt, and let first responders do their job. The bike can wait.

Once it's time to move the motorcycle, we'll load it even if it has broken controls, flat tires or a bent front end. We'll take it to your home, a repair shop or a storage location so you can deal with the insurance claim on your schedule. Our accident towing team can also handle any cars involved in the same incident.

Before the bike leaves the scene, take photos of it from every side and of the area around it. Your insurance adjuster will likely want them.

Scheduled Motorcycle Transport

Not every motorcycle tow is an emergency. We also schedule pickups for:

  • Bikes going to a dealer or shop for service
  • Private-party purchases where the bike isn't registered yet
  • Projects and non-runners coming out of a garage or storage unit
  • Moving a bike between homes in the Inland Empire or across Southern California

Scheduled moves give us time to plan the best route and pickup time. For longer trips, see our long-distance towing service.

Staying Safe While You Wait for a Tow

A rider on the shoulder is more exposed than a driver in a car, so a few habits matter:

  • Get well off the road. Push the bike as far onto the shoulder or into a turnout as you safely can, and stand behind a guardrail if there is one.
  • Make yourself visible. Turn on the hazards if the battery allows, and keep your helmet or a bright jacket on at night.
  • Don't try to ride it if something is wrong. A bent lever, leaking fork or soft tire on a mountain descent isn't worth the risk.
  • Stay hydrated. Summer afternoons in the valley get hot, and shade can be scarce along Ramona Expressway and Gilman Springs Rd.

Keep your phone charged and answer when dispatch calls back. The driver may need a quick update to find you.

Where we provide motorcycle towing

Every day in San Jacinto, and on request in Hemet, Valle Vista, East Hemet, Winchester, Homeland, Nuevo, Menifee, Perris, Moreno Valley, Beaumont, Banning, Idyllwild.

How it works

Motorcycle Towing, start to finish.

  1. Call with your location

Call (951) 355-4290 with where you are, the bike's make and model and whether it rolls. A mile marker or pin helps on mountain roads.

  2. Truck dispatched

We send a flatbed equipped with a wheel chock and soft tie-downs and give you a typical arrival window.

  3. Secure loading

The driver loads the bike upright, chocks the front wheel and straps it at protected frame points.

  4. Delivered upright

We unload the bike carefully at your home, shop or dealer and set it on its stand.

Questions about motorcycle towing

Don’t see yours? Call dispatch, we’re happy to answer.

Will my motorcycle be scratched during the tow?

We take steps to prevent that. Straps attach to soft loops around solid frame points rather than directly to painted or chrome parts, and the front wheel sits in a chock so the bike can't tip. We also note any existing scratches or damage before loading, so you and the driver are on the same page.

Can you pick up my bike on SR-74 or near Idyllwild?

Yes. We tow motorcycles from the Pines to Palms Highway, SR-243 and the roads around Idyllwild and Mountain Center. Arrival takes longer on mountain roads than in town, and we'll give you an honest estimate. Cell coverage is spotty in places, so call from wherever you have signal and describe the nearest turnout or landmark.

Can I ride along with my motorcycle?

In most cases, yes, if there's room in the cab and you're heading to the same destination as the bike. If you're with a riding group, let the dispatcher know how many people need a ride so we can plan. Riding partners can, of course, follow the truck on their own bikes.

Do you tow trikes and heavy touring bikes?

Yes. Trikes and heavy baggers need more deck space and stronger tie-downs, and some trikes need to be strapped down like a small car. Tell us the make and model when you call so we bring the right straps and plan the loading. Weight isn't usually a problem for our flatbeds.

My bike just won't start. Do I need a tow?

Maybe not. A weak battery is a common cause, especially after a bike has been sitting. Our jump-start service may get you back on the road, as long as your bike's manufacturer allows jump-starting. If it still won't start or there's a bigger mechanical problem, we can switch to a tow on the same call.

Need a tow right now?

Tell dispatch where you are. We’ll give you a price and an arrival time before the truck leaves.
