When your car quits at 2 a.m. on SR-79 or starts smoking on Ramona Expressway, you need a real person to answer the phone and a truck that is actually close by. Nick's Towing San Jacinto runs emergency towing out of San Jacinto around the clock, seven days a week, holidays included.

We are a local outfit, so our drivers already know the valley: the dark stretches, the narrow shoulders and the spots where you should not be standing next to traffic. Call (951) 355-4290, tell us where you are, and we will get a truck rolling.

What Counts as an Emergency Tow?

If your vehicle cannot be driven safely and you are stuck somewhere you should not be, that is an emergency. Common calls we take in the valley:

  • Engine dies in a travel lane or on a narrow shoulder
  • Overheating on a summer afternoon, steam coming from under the hood
  • Transmission failure, loss of power steering or brakes that feel wrong
  • A blown tire with no usable spare, or a wheel that is damaged
  • Stalling at night on an unlit road with no safe place to wait

You do not need to diagnose the problem. Tell the dispatcher what the car is doing and we will send the right truck. If it turns out to be something simpler, like a dead battery, our driver may be able to handle it on the spot through our roadside assistance service.

Emergency Towing Day and Night in the San Jacinto Valley

Breakdowns do not keep business hours, and neither do we. Our dispatch line is answered 24/7, and drivers are on call overnight, on weekends and on holidays. Late-night calls are a big part of what we do, especially on the stretches between towns where there is little lighting and not much traffic to flag down.

Arrival time depends on where you are and what the roads look like. Inside San Jacinto and nearby Hemet, we typically reach drivers within 30–45 minutes, depending on traffic. Farther out, such as up Lamb Canyon toward Beaumont or out Gilman Springs Road toward Moreno Valley, it can take longer, and the dispatcher will give you an honest estimate when you call.

We would rather tell you the truth up front than promise a time we cannot hit.

Stay Safe While You Wait

The wait for a tow truck is often the most dangerous part of a breakdown. A few rules our drivers repeat on every call:

  • Get off the road if you can. Even rolling a few more feet onto a wider shoulder, a side street or a parking lot makes a big difference.
  • Hazards on, lights on. At night, keep your parking lights on so we and other drivers can see you.
  • Do not stand between your car and traffic. On fast roads like Ramona Expressway or SR-79, wait well off the roadway, behind a barrier if there is one.
  • Stay buckled in if there is no safe place to stand outside, especially on a freeway shoulder.
  • Call 911 first if anyone is hurt, the car is on fire, or you are stopped in a live lane.

In summer, valley afternoons get very hot. Keep water in the car and do not leave kids or pets in a parked vehicle while you wait.

The Right Truck for the Job

We run both flatbeds and wheel-lift trucks. A wheel-lift is quick and works well for many front-wheel-drive cars in tight spots. A flatbed carries the whole vehicle off the ground, which is the safer choice for all-wheel-drive SUVs, lowered cars, electric vehicles and anything with drivetrain damage. If you are not sure, tell the dispatcher the year, make and model and we will choose. You can read more about our flatbed towing if your vehicle needs it.

We also handle light and medium-duty work, so a stalled pickup, work van or box truck is not a problem.

Pickups, Work Vans and Medium-Duty Trucks

Emergencies are not limited to passenger cars. Contractors, landscapers and delivery drivers all over the valley depend on their trucks, and a breakdown can shut down a whole workday. We tow pickups, work vans, box trucks and other light and medium-duty vehicles, and our dispatcher will ask about weight, length and any trailer or load so we send a truck that can handle it.

If you are hauling a trailer, tell us up front. We may need to plan for moving the trailer separately. For bigger vehicles, see our medium-duty towing page.

Where We Can Take Your Car

You choose the destination. Most people send the car to their own mechanic, a dealership, or home. If it is the middle of the night and your shop is closed, we can drop it at your house or talk with you about other options so you are not stuck deciding on the shoulder.

If you are traveling and far from home, ask about long-distance towing. We can move your vehicle out of the valley to a shop you trust. Let the dispatcher know if you need a ride for yourself as well, so we can plan for passengers when possible.

Every day in San Jacinto, and on request in Hemet, Valle Vista, East Hemet, Winchester, Homeland, Nuevo, Menifee, Perris, Moreno Valley, Beaumont, Banning, Idyllwild.

Questions about emergency towing

Don’t see yours? Call dispatch, we’re happy to answer.

What information should I have ready when I call for an emergency tow?

Your exact location is the most important thing: the road name, nearest cross street, direction of travel or a nearby business. Then the year, make and model of the vehicle, what happened, and where you want it taken. If you are on a highway and do not know the cross street, describe what you can see and the dispatcher will help you narrow it down.

Do you really answer the phone at 3 a.m.?

Yes. Our dispatch line is answered 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays. Overnight calls are routed to a driver on call, so you are not leaving a voicemail and hoping someone hears it in the morning. If we are tied up on another call, we will tell you that honestly and give you a realistic estimate.

Can I ride in the tow truck with my car?

Often yes, depending on the truck and how many people are with you. Let the dispatcher know how many passengers there are when you call so we can plan for it. Children need appropriate car seats, and we may not be able to take large groups, so it helps to ask early rather than on scene.

My car broke down on Gilman Springs Road. Can you get to me?

Yes. Gilman Springs Road between San Jacinto and Moreno Valley is part of our regular coverage. It is a busy two-lane stretch with limited shoulder room, so if you can reach a pullout or wider spot, do that. Keep your hazards on, stay well away from traffic and tell the dispatcher which direction you were heading.

What if my car is in a place a tow truck cannot easily reach?

Tell us when you call. Cars that slid into a ditch, got stuck in sand or soft dirt, or rolled off the pavement usually need a winch before they can be towed. Our trucks carry recovery equipment, and the dispatcher will make sure the right truck is sent so you are not waiting twice.

Need a tow right now?

Tell dispatch where you are. We’ll give you a price and an arrival time before the truck leaves.
