Moreno Valley is a big city with big freeways. SR-60 runs across the north end, I-215 skirts the west side past March Air Reserve Base, and Gilman Springs Rd links the east end down to our valley. Towing in Moreno Valley means freeway breakdowns, collision tows to body shops, and a lot of no-starts in apartment parking lots.
Nick's Towing San Jacinto reaches Moreno Valley from San Jacinto over Gilman Springs Rd, about 22 miles. Call (951) 355-4290 anytime for a flatbed, wheel-lift or roadside help.
SR-60 and the Badlands Grade
East of Moreno Beach Dr, SR-60 climbs through the Badlands toward Beaumont. It's a long, steady grade with curves and heavy truck traffic, and on hot afternoons it's tough on cooling systems. Cars that overheat on the climb often limp off at the last Moreno Valley exit and call from a gas station.
If your temperature gauge starts rising, turn off the A/C, turn the heater on full, and get off at the next safe exit. Don't push it over the grade. We'll come with a flatbed through our emergency towing service and take the car to your mechanic.
Westbound, the long descent from Beaumont into Moreno Valley is hard on brakes, especially for trucks and anyone pulling a trailer.
Gilman Springs Road
Gilman Springs Rd is the shortcut from Moreno Valley to San Jacinto, and it's the road our trucks use to get to you. It's mostly two lanes with soft shoulders, fast traffic and long dark stretches at night. Breakdowns there are risky, and crashes on it tend to be serious.
If you break down on Gilman Springs, get as far off the pavement as you safely can and keep your lights on. Our drivers know the turnouts along it, which helps us set up safely when we arrive.
If Gilman Springs Rd is closed for a crash or road work, we'll come around another way, such as the Ramona Expressway or SR-79 to SR-60. That adds time, and we'll tell you so up front.
Towing in Moreno Valley After a Collision
Busy surface streets like Alessandro Blvd, Perris Blvd, Heacock St and Day St see plenty of fender-benders, especially around Moreno Valley Mall and the big shopping centers near SR-60. Our accident towing crew will take your car to a body shop of your choice in Moreno Valley, Riverside or back home to the San Jacinto Valley.
If your insurer hasn't picked a shop yet, we can hold the vehicle briefly while you sort it out.
The SR-60/I-215 Stretch Toward Riverside
On the west side of town, SR-60 and I-215 share lanes through the Box Springs area toward Riverside. Traffic there is dense, lanes merge and split, and stop-and-go conditions lead to plenty of rear-end crashes and overheated engines.
If you break down in that stretch, get to the right shoulder if possible and stay in the vehicle with your seatbelt on until help arrives. We'll take the car wherever you prefer, east toward Moreno Valley and the San Jacinto Valley or west into Riverside. Let us know which direction you were traveling so our driver comes in on the correct side of the freeway.
Apartments, Lockouts and Everyday Calls
Moreno Valley has a lot of apartment complexes and large residential tracts, and the most common call there is a car that won't start in the morning. Jump starts and lockouts make up a big share of what we do in town. In the east end near Moreno Beach Dr and the newer neighborhoods toward Lake Perris, we're often a bit closer since we come in from Gilman Springs.
Arrival times depend on SR-60 and surface traffic; we'll give you a real estimate when you call.
Many complexes have gated lots or parking structures with low clearance. Let us know the gate code, the building number and any height limits so the driver doesn't lose time searching.
