That car in the driveway that hasn't moved in two years isn't going to fix itself. Nick's Towing San Jacinto offers junk car removal in San Jacinto for dead, wrecked, stripped and simply unwanted vehicles, with no need for it to run, roll or have air in the tires.
We pick up from homes, rentals, ranch properties and business lots across the valley. Call (951) 355-4290 with the year, make, model and condition, and we'll tell you what we can offer and when we can pick it up.
What Kind of Vehicles We Remove
If it has wheels, or used to, we can probably haul it. Common junk car removal calls in the San Jacinto Valley include:
- Non-running cars with blown engines, dead transmissions or problems that cost more to repair than the car is worth
- Wrecked vehicles that the insurance company didn't total or that the owner kept after a settlement
- Old project cars that never got finished
- Inherited vehicles left behind after a family member passed or moved into care
- Cars left by former tenants at rental properties, once the owner has the legal right to dispose of them
- Old pickups, vans and SUVs sitting on rural properties in Homeland, Winchester or Valle Vista
Flat tires, missing wheels, broken glass and no keys are all fine. We'll bring the right equipment to load it.
How Junk Car Removal Works in San Jacinto
The process is straightforward. You call or message us with the vehicle details and photos if you have them. We give you an offer or a removal quote based on the vehicle's size, condition, location and whether it has parts of value.
Some vehicles are worth money, especially complete trucks, newer cars and vehicles with in-demand parts. Others are worth very little once you factor in the cost of hauling. We'll tell you plainly which category yours falls into before we send a truck.
On pickup day, our driver confirms the paperwork, loads the vehicle onto a flatbed and gives you a receipt. Most pickups take well under an hour once the truck arrives.
Because we're a local towing company, not a call center, the person quoting your car is the same team that shows up to haul it. Removed vehicles go to licensed dismantlers and recyclers, where fluids are drained, usable parts are pulled and the metal is recycled. That keeps leaking oil and old batteries out of your yard and out of the San Jacinto River watershed.

Title and DMV Paperwork in California
Paperwork is the part people worry about most, so here's the general picture for California. Check the DMV's current rules for your specific situation.
- Bring the title. The California Certificate of Title, often called the pink slip, is the cleanest way to transfer a junk vehicle. Sign where indicated as the seller.
- Lost the title? The registered owner can usually apply for a duplicate through the DMV. Tell us when you call, because what we can accept depends on the vehicle and the documents you have.
- Report the transfer. California requires the seller to submit a Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability to the DMV within 5 days. You can do it online. This protects you from tickets or fees tied to the car after it leaves.
- Cancel insurance and registration items after the transfer is reported, not before.
If the vehicle belongs to someone else, such as a deceased relative or a former tenant, there are separate processes. Get those sorted out before scheduling a pickup.
Getting Your Car Ready for Pickup
A few minutes of prep makes the pickup quick:
- Clear out personal items. Check the glove box, trunk, under the seats and the spare tire well. Old registration cards and paperwork with your address should come out too.
- Remove toll transponders. If you have a FasTrak or other toll tag on the windshield, take it off and close or transfer the account.
- Clear a path. Move other cars, trash cans and gates out of the way so the flatbed can get close or the winch can reach.
- Have keys and paperwork ready if you have them.
If the car is in a backyard, behind a locked gate or buried in brush, tell us up front. Our winch-out recovery equipment can pull vehicles out of tight or soft spots.
Smog Failures and Other Options
If your car just failed a smog check, junking it isn't your only option. California's Bureau of Automotive Repair runs a Consumer Assistance Program that may offer repair help or a vehicle retirement option for eligible owners. Check eligibility before selling to anyone, because the program has its own rules and approved dismantlers.
If the car still runs and you'd rather sell it to a private buyer, that may bring more money than junking it. We're happy to be the fallback if it doesn't sell. And if you need the car moved to a buyer or a shop instead, our long-distance towing covers trips across Southern California.
When you're ready to clear the driveway, call (951) 355-4290.
